We had bought a generic grate, and it seems to have a terrible effect on burning in our fireplace. So much more work to keep the fire going. Bought an original grate from Smokey Mountain, and our fireplace is back to normal. Easy to keep the fire going. The Smokey Mountain Grate is good quality, and fits our fireplace perfectly. Even where it fits into the holder brackets so it doesn't tip!
